Lovely Porcelain Courting Couple Victorian Couple Fragonard Handpainted Portrait Gold Scalloped Rimmed Plate for Tea or Display #227
RARE and simply beautiful courting victorian couple portrait china plate. Plate is made of porcelain and measures 8 7/8" in diameter. Features a romantic scene of a boy dressed in pink holding hands with a beautiful victorian girl dressed in a purple and yellow dress in a beautiful courtyard scene. Looks like he is professing his love to her.
Portrait is surrounded by an inner gold band and the outer edging of the plate is made up of gold filigree and finished with a thick gold band border. Absolutely gorgeous scene that you can't take your eyes away from.
Plate is unmarked which is common for antique plates made before 1910. It has light wear to the outer gold band and a few utensil marks. No chips, crazing, stains, or repairs as this plate was very much previously loved and adored. Scoop it up now as it will not last long.
Use as a decorative plate, give as a gift, use in tea parties, weddings, shabby chic decor, home decor, birthdays, baby or bridal showers, etc. The possibilites are endless!!
