ANTIQUE TEA CADDY-SILVER PLATED E. G. WEBSTER & SON 2-SIDED REPOSSE
Extremely unique antique silver plated reposse tea caddy box. Base has stamped hall mark of E. G. Webster and Sons. Brooklyn New York. Company began business in 1859. This exquisite piece has stunning reposse decoration on 2 panels, front and back. Every quarter side of her features highly decorated scenes with intricate scrolling details on top.
This particular item would have been a decorative and functional piece for a well-appointed home. Intricate relief work is characteristic of the period's aesthetic. These pieces are highly sought after by collectors for their craftsmanship and historical significance.
For being over 100 years old she is in EXCELLENT vintage condition. Absolutely breathtaking piece, inside looks clean. The fact that she has been around for so long with so much mysterious history adds to the allure of this spectacular vintage piece.
